This project provided Campus Wide Boundaries & Survey Controls, and 3D Laser Scanning, topographic survey and mapping. This University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) campus wide Survey Network helped enable future Campus Plan updates such as the support of landscape services on campus. A campus wide program for horizontal and vertical survey controls was established, including accurate XYZ coordinates marked with brass disks / rebar markers. UHM and adjacent boundaries were ascertained via title search and boundary studies. All UHM boundaries, easements, and adjacent property boundaries were calculated and mapped.
CPS completed field topographic and laser scanning work of the central UHM campus and lower campus within an accuracy of +- 1/200-500 per foot to produce a base map that can be accrued over time to create an overall 3D campus topographic survey of UHM, including ground, facilities, and landscape. We have also added underground utilities to the initially located from as-built utility plans. Future utility projects can have as-built locations scanned to meet the same standards for accuracy as the above ground survey.
